Didde A lot has been said about Didde presses over the years. People have praised and berated them. One thing that is certainly true is that printers Worldwide have bought a lot of Diddes. I am sure at 7500+ Didde has the largest installed web press base on the Planet. The Tandemer was their first model introduced around 1961. After that Didde collaborated with IBM and made the Apollo. Both of these presses were a huge success and Carl Didde and Don Glaser were able to build a large factory in Emporia Kansas to mass produce them. In the early 1970's the DG 175 was brought out as a larger format machine 17 1/2" wide. Then in 1979 the hugely popular Didde 860 was introduced. This machine was used widely for business forms, direct mail, and commercial web printing. The Comperfector was introduced for high quality commercial perfecting printing, and had 4 form rollers. Then came the WebCom, MiniCom, ColorTech, MVP, VIP, Didde ML, Viper, MCM, Colorform, XL900, BIC, D900, Excalibur, and the ML2000. Under the covers though these many models are basically 3. You have the chain driven Apollos and Conservers, the shaft driven in lines fixed and variable size like the 860 and VIP, and finally come the perfectors like the Comperfector and Excalibur. The basic components vary little. What Orville Dutro started with his original design in 1961 still carries on today, Diddes are simple, good performing, web presses that are low cost to buy and maintain. Sure they need a few more parts and repairs than some heavier machines, but in the end the printers that buy these machine has a very good shot at making money. And that is what it is all about, isn't it. Visit
Drent One of the World's largest and best brands of document, direct mail, business forms, promotional, and commercial web printing presses. Drent pioneered the servo drive method of powering a press with independent precision drives instead of a driveshaft. The result was the Vision press which was the first popular servo drive press of this type. In addition they make the Gazelle line. And they have innovated size change on some of their presses to make the cylinder change cheaper and faster with the replacement of some of the cylinders with composite materials. This is called the VSOP system. Visit

Form Flo Form Flo is a good brand of roll collator made in Phoenix Arizona. There were two types of collators made by Form Flo. The most popular by far was the bottom feed "Schriber-Syle" machine. And there were a few "Hamilton-Style" made also. The original Form Flo collator was essentially a Schriber 550 collator. However, the machine evolved from there and has become a respected brand of its own. When companies are looking for late model machine Form Flo is one of the top brands. Certainly this is the case for USA based firms. Although Form Flo has sold machines all over the World. Visit

Harris I like all the Harris web presses, but especially the Harris web commercial machines like the M1000, M300, M110, M600 and so on. I have always thought they were the best web commercial machines ever made. When you are looking for a machine like this though you have to decide if your needs are for a used full web or half web. And in addition you need to know if your runs favor a one around press like an M300, M200, or M600, or a two around such as the M1000. M110's are the most popular half webs. They are short grain though. You get a lot more work off the end if you can accept short grain, but at the cost of the fact that some customers will want long grain. We also offer Hantscho, Baker Perkins, Komori, Heidelberg, Didde, Royal Zenith, Mitsubishi, and ATF on some of our other pages. Visit
Harris-Heidelberg I like all the Harris web presses, but especially the Harris web commercial machines like the M1000, M300, M110, M600 and so on. I have always thought they were the best web commercial machines ever made. When you are looking for a machine like this though you have to decide if your needs are for a used full web or half web. Harris-Schriber I have to admit some bias when I talk about Harris-Schriber because I spent 7 very happy years working for them 1977-1984. During this time period the company sold thousands of short run forms presses like the Harris Schriber 500, SR800, MR1000, NM1000, NMC1000, and M70. The Schriber Company also sold thousands of roll collators. These included the standard, 300A, 505, 525, 625, 550, 750, 925, and 950. Their collators were all bottom load, and many people still think this gives them some advantages over top load machines like Hamilton for set up. Harris Schriber also made big presses like the 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 1530, and 1830. Schriber was also notable for introducing the first commercialy available make ready systems on this type of press in 1975 on the 1200. When the variable press concept took hold Harris sold the FC50 and CS50 that was made in Italy, and came out with their own varible size machines starting with the Harris VS820, then the VS920, VS1220, VS1330, and finally the VS1050. Parts and service are currently available from GSS Inc of Springboro, Ohio - Phone: (937) 746-0708. Take a look at our current offerings

King King presses were made in Joplin MO from the end of World War II till just last year. They had many similarities with Didde Web Presses, which I also sell a lot of. The first designer of the King Press was Orville Dutro, and his concept was to make a simple modular full size web for the production of newspaper, books, commercial work, and newsletters. I am sure that King's have been put to many more uses as well. If you have any stories please send them in to me. We sell a lot of used King machines. There have been a number of models, with the name, Color King, News King, Daily King, & Process King, but they all have a lot of similarities. The Color King has a big inker, so it has been used by many people to do all sorts of commercial work. The News King and Daily King were sold as either monos or stacks, but mostly used to print newspapers, newsletters, and books. There were only a few Process Kings built, and if you find one, you have found a very good press. We sell, list, and buy King machines, so if you have any extra let me know and we can help you get rid of it.
